I started Beesocks as an outlet for my excess creativity. When you love to make stuff, you end up with lots of stuff! After getting my first kindle, my stuff making began to have a new purpose and the Beesocks Kindle covers were born. I knew I wanted a cover for my new baby, and I knew it had to be pretty and stand up to a daily commute in my bag. I wanted something easy to use, that I never had to fuss with or take the kindle out of to charge.
The first covers were painstakingly hand-sewn with soft bodies and felt spines. After many (many, many!) prototypes and design changes I've added some new twists to the old classic. These days they are machine sewn, with sturdy chipboard bodies and padded interiors. Each one is still hand made one at time, and hand finished with needle and thread. I still think of new ways to make them better every day and I still get a thrill each time one goes out the door :)
